In 2023, the streaming video on demand film Aye Watan Mere Watan will debut on Amazon Prime Video. Sara Ali Khan plays the film’s main character, Usha Gupta. This film about freedom warrior Usha Gupta will be a stirring patriotic tale. During the Quit India Movement in 1942, independence activist Usha Gupta set up an undercover radio station to broadcast news.
She risked a lot herself to back the rebels and help the Indians keep their independence spirit alive. The death of Usha Gupta occurred on August 11, 2000, when she was 80 years old. Karan Johar is overseeing the production of the film under his company’s name, Dharmatic Entertainment. It is directed by Kannan Iyer and is scheduled for a 2023 release.

Ae Watan Mere Watan, starring Sara Ali Khan as an Indian freedom fighter, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Monday, January 23, 2023, just in time for India’s 74th Republic Day celebrations.
In the promotional clip, Sara dons a white Saare and pulls down the curtains to a pitch-black room where she sets to work assembling a radio-like apparatus. She adjusts the equipment and intones into the microphone, “Free voices cannot be held spellbound; this is the voice of Hindustan, from someplace in the land.”
The very next second, there is a resounding pounding on the door. Sara’s face takes on a look of horror as she realises that someone has discovered the room’s covert activities.

The film’s principal actress, Sara Ali Khan, was influenced by Indian freedom fighter Usha Mehta. This role is a first for her.
She was most recently featured with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush in Aanand L. Rai’s romantic comedy Atrangi Re. Varun Dhawan, who introduced the project as Sara’s Next in October 2022, is widely speculated to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Amazon Original film, which has yet to reveal its full cast.

Instead of being released in theatres, the Amazon Original movie will be made available exclusively through Amazon Prime Video.
